Advisory Engagements

Three engagements, each designed for a distinct stage of the ERP conversation

From an initial health review through to a full selection process, Padu Consult's engagements are calibrated to where an organisation actually stands — not to a standard consulting package.

Our Methodology

How we approach every engagement, regardless of its scope

01

Scoping, before anything else

A structured conversation to understand the situation. We confirm that an engagement is appropriate and agree the scope in writing before any work begins.

02

Listening to the people closest to the system

Sessions with system operators, finance users and operations staff — not only IT management. The observations that matter most often come from people who work within the system daily.

03

A written paper, discussed before delivery

Every engagement closes with a written deliverable reviewed with the client before final distribution. The reasoning behind each observation is stated — conclusions do not arrive without the evidence that supports them.

FIXED FEE RM 945
Engagement I

ERP Health Conversation

Designed for organisations carrying an older ERP — perhaps an on-premise SAP, an Oracle E-Business Suite of long standing, or a Malaysian or regional ERP that has accumulated heavy customisation over years. We examine the system as it actually operates, listen to the people who depend on it daily, and write a measured health note.

The note names what works, what is fragile, and which considered refinements would extend the system's useful life. We do not propose replacement on first instinct.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

  • Current-state walkthrough of the ERP environment
  • Structured listening sessions with finance, operations and IT staff
  • Customisation debt and integration dependency review
  • Written health note (8–15 pages) with prioritised observations
  • Closing discussion with key stakeholders before final distribution

BEST SUITED FOR

Organisations that have been managing an ageing ERP and are unsure whether to invest in improvement or begin planning for modernisation. Useful before any significant decision is made about the system's future.

Engagement II

ERP Modernisation Advisory

A longer engagement for organisations actively weighing whether to modernise an ageing ERP — through a move to a cloud ERP, a re-platform, or a careful continuation with selective refinements. We weigh the strategic case, the operational risk, the data continuity concerns, the regulatory dimensions, and the realistic absorption capacity of the operational team.

The output is a written modernisation paper with three considered scenarios. We do not represent any ERP vendor and accept no referral arrangements. Suited for finance, operations and IT working together.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

  • Strategic case analysis across continue, refine and replace scenarios
  • Operational risk and data continuity assessment
  • Regulatory and compliance dimension review (SST, PDPA, audit trail)
  • Written modernisation paper presenting three documented scenarios
  • Closing session with finance, operations and IT leadership

BEST SUITED FOR

Organisations where a modernisation decision is genuinely on the table — either because the system is visibly struggling, or because a major business change (acquisition, expansion, regulatory shift) has made the question unavoidable.

ERP Modernisation Advisory

"Three considered scenarios — continue and refine, partial modernisation, full re-platform — each with its costs, risks and implications documented."

ERP Selection Workshop
TWO-DAY WORKSHOP RM 1,290
Engagement III

ERP Selection Workshop

A two-day workshop for organisations entering a deliberate ERP selection process. We help write the requirements brief in vendor-neutral language, design the structured evaluation, examine the contractual and implementation-partner considerations, and rehearse the harder conversations with internal stakeholders.

The workshop closes with a written selection handbook the client may carry through the formal procurement. Suited for finance, operations, IT and procurement working together.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

  • Two structured workshop days (on-site or hybrid)
  • Requirements brief drafted in vendor-neutral functional language
  • Structured evaluation design and scoring framework
  • Contractual and implementation-partner considerations reviewed
  • Written selection handbook delivered at workshop close

BEST SUITED FOR

Organisations that have decided to select a new ERP and want to conduct a formal, defensible process — particularly where the decision involves significant capital expenditure, board or shareholder oversight, or a procurement policy that requires documented evaluation.

Professional Standards

Standards that apply across every engagement

Privacy & Data Handling

All engagement materials handled under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. No client data shared with third parties without explicit consent.

Written Scope Agreement

Scope is agreed in writing before commencement. Additional work that falls outside the agreed scope is discussed and priced separately, not added to the invoice.

Conflict Disclosure

Any prior relationship with a vendor, reseller or implementation partner relevant to the client's environment is disclosed before the scoping call proceeds.

Named Advisor Throughout

The advisor confirmed at scoping conducts the engagement sessions and writes the deliverable. Work is not transferred to junior staff at any stage.

Confidentiality

Engagement observations, system architecture details and internal processes are kept in confidence. Materials from one client's engagement are not referenced in another's.

No Vendor Revenue

Padu Consult's only income from any engagement is the stated engagement fee. No commission, referral payment or downstream project revenue is accepted under any circumstances.

Engagement Fees

Fixed fees, stated clearly

All fees are in Malaysian Ringgit and inclusive of the deliverables described. Travel for engagements outside the Klang Valley is discussed at scoping.
